Inguinal hernia unilateral CHILD

A unilateral inguinal hernia occurs when tissue protrudes through a weak spot in the abdominal wall on one side of the groin. The surgical interventions may include:

  • Herniorrhaphy: This is a traditional surgical technique where the surgeon repairs the hernia by stitching the healthy ends of tissue or muscle together. It does not involve the use of mesh and focuses on directly closing the defect in the abdominal wall.
  • Hernioplasty: In contrast, hernioplasty involves the use of a synthetic mesh patch to reinforce the weakened area of tissue. This method aims to provide additional support and reduce the risk of recurrence by covering the defect with mesh
